Stop Motion Colour
Students at HAWK Hildesheim put together this excellent stop motion piece depicting colours. Stop motion takes plenty of time and prep to put together, but I hate to think what they would do if they made a mistake with the paint.

Analogue Computer – Your Operating System in Real Life!
This short film is superb. Great visualisation of how your OS would run if everything was analogue!

Amazing Jumping Video
Parkour or not, this Damien chap has some amazing aerial talents. He’s making all those twists and turns look easy, but I’d hate to have his knees at 50.

Multi-talented Aung Zaw Oo takes parkour-style skills in a different direction by throwing in skateboards, swords and some mild juggling into the mix.

Gigantic Belgian Monster Cows
I can’t help but stare at these huge monster cows! Apparently, they originate in 19th century Belgium by crossing local cattle with British cattle.

The Belgian Blue cattle are gigantic bovine wonders. Their enormous size and muscle mass, sometimes called “double muscling,” is a naturally occurring mutation of the gene for myostatin, a protein that regulates muscle growth. This mutation results in accelerated lean muscle growth.

For show, they’re often shaved to show off their muscle growth.

See this video below for a little insight into their “development”. Watch as they collect the semen from one bull for artificial insemination (not kidding!)

Cool Performers Create Shadow Puppet Shapes
Watch this short video to see members of the dance group Pilobolus come together behind the screen to create some cool shadow puppet scenes. The best bits have to be the moment just before the scenes are created.
Thanks David!

Bicycle Parkour Video
There’s some wicked airs and spins in this video, shot in Edinburgh. I never thought a bike could clear such heights and obstacles, but more for the creative I guess.

Robot Footballers – extreme football, action and science fiction idents
Ok, this has been around the block as well as sitting on my list for ages, but still no less impressive. TV network Cuatro commissioned Barcelona-based, audio-visual specialists, Kotoc to make the idents for the UEFA Euro 2008 competition.

Kotoc were briefed with “robots, football and superheroes” and created a campaign consisting of small sequences in which extreme football, action and science fiction merge.
Check Behance to watch the Cuatrobots!
There’s a few idents there, but they’re short and very sweet.

Slow Motion Face Punches Video
This is one of those videos that you just need to watch for a bit, even if you’ve seen something similar. The initial tantalising edits, which cut before the boxing glove hits the faces, eventually reveal all the face vibrating glory from about half way through, rewarding your patience.
