Retro Coin-Op Collection Photos
Like coin-ops? Then you’ll love this Flickr set of vintage coin-op machines.
The Coin-Op collection on flickr is a superb collection and example of what a wonderful sight old coin-op machines can be. Good visual reference for that mechanical vintage look.

All About Lego
If you like Lego, you’ll love the Brothers Brick Lego block, which touts contributions featuring interesting and unique, fun Lego creations.
I’ve featured Lego here before (Iron Man lego) and although I’m not fanatical about the brand, interesting Lego models do catch my eye, especially if they’re not too “Lego-like”.
Licenses also get my attention and there’s a crop of models currently being released for the forthcoming new Indiana Jones film.

This one below is quite an impressive diorama, displaying the temple escape from the beginning of The Raiders of the Lost Ark.

For more Lego creations, check out The Brothers Brick blog
The Indy diorama was discovered on Gizmodo

Computer Generated Tattoo
I’m not heavily into tattoos, but this post (admittedly from a few weeks ago) did strike me as a pretty good use of computer graphics. If you forget the effort needed to generate a CG likeness of the person. And the fact this idea won’t save the world.

But for those who would like a tattoo, but aren’t sure, or even those who would just like to see what a tattoo would look like on them, this application seems blindingly obvious. An example of a good idea just staring you in the face, maybe.
I guess it just needs a few more years of development to make the process quicker and more accessible/affordable, and whether the idea has potential in other areas too.
The software was developed by computer graphics artist Loic Zimmermann.

Iron Man Lego
Allowing myself to become a little wrapped up in the build up to the Iron Man film (Starring Robert Downey Jr.) - here’s a fantastic looking model made up of Lego parts.

Who hasn’t grown up with even a little go at creating a miniature tower out of these blocks? With the most basic of shapes, imaginations of all ages have created amazing structures and this Iron Man is no exception.
I particularly like the way it just doesn’t look like its been structured out of Lego. The pose has a bit of flexibility that seems to allow the polygonic forms to show through to recreate that Iron Man suit look.
