Lost In Space Laser Pistol
This attractive replica of the laser pistol from the first season sci-fi tv series Lost in Space has been created by Sci-Fi Metropolis in collaboration with master propsmith Richard Coyle.

Each unit comes with a numbered display plate signed by Bill Mumy, who played Will Robinson on the show. The pistol touts lighting, sound effects and a clear acrylic display stand.

Star Wars and Star Trek Cosplayers
Photographer Steve Schofield shots a series of cosplaying fans of Star Wars and Star Trek. Real life meets fantasy as we see these screen icons in the every day ordinary settings of suburban living rooms and interiors.

Gloves for Star Trek Vulcan Salute
Pharell’s Billionaire Boys Club have released a new accessory – the “Star Trek” Gloves. These form the famous Vulcan salute, as seen in the movies.
Now all you trekkies can salute all you like during Winter and not feel the cold.

Rejected Transformers
Transforming robots that always get picked last. Here’s a cool contest for people to submit their own ideas for alternative but crap transformers. Some good ones in there and a comical antidote to the cool ones.

Alternative Movie Posters showing Brand Integration
These posters (albeit on canvas and frame) make a refreshing change to the usual “action packed” movie poster design. They’re alot simpler appealing to the graphically include minimalist, and also state the brands integrated in the films.
Great to get a snapshot sense of the films “positioning”.

How Bold can Darth Vader be?
Ha! I thought this was funny as well as looking quite interesting as a Darth Vader made up of typography.
David Friedman of Ironic Sans had Princess Leia’s quote in mind when he developed this: “Darth Vader. Only you could be so bold.”

Aliens Vs Predator Chess Set
Creating chess sets out of film tie-ins is nothing new, but this set featuring Aliens vs Predators still sends shivers down my spine.

Its a pretty neat looking set with the themed design working its way down to the base of either the Aliens vs Predator set, or the Ripley vs Aliens set further down.
I’d get one if I wasn’t trying to minimise what I own…

Ray Guns
Muddy Mountain Pottery creates all kinds of ceramic products, but most quirky of all are these antique-style retro ray guns.
Well, why not? They look great, and encourage creative thoughts that hark back to (my) childhoods of retro sci-fi movies and space age technology!

This here is the Harrisaurian. It features glass elements as part of the gun barrel and the sighting scope.
Each Raku Ray Gun comes with a ceramic moon crater plaque wall mount.

Art of the Title – A blog for film title sequences
Here’s a bit of a gem – a blog devoted to film title sequences. Each entry is listed in an easy to view left column, with each entry having a series of screenshots and video!
This is quite a reference. Below some of my favourites: 300, Lemony Snicket, The Kingdom and Fight Club
