Wow – I didn’t think sock monkeys could get this good! Its not the breasts either, although they are pretty eye-catching.

Talented husband Jeff makes his wife a new sock monkey every year and this year he’s done the Saras Sock Vati, representing the Hindu goddess of the arts, Sarasvati.

Previously posted Recycled Parts Robots producer Paul Loughridge has also created a lunchbox based on the classic Airstream.

It is a Vintage Heavy Duty aluminum lunch box with a set of “doubles” of an old Tonka dump truck and a pair of propane tanks (…35mm film canisters). It sits at 15.5″ long x 8.5 tall” x 5.5 wide”

I had no idea what to expect upon reading “knitting graffiti”. But this make me laugh. It reminds me of receiving an uncomfortable knitted turtleneck jumper as a present when I was young, and being forced to wear it.

But how much work was this piece to create?!

This superb looking lunchbox designed by Frederique Morrel, is  made from vintage tapestries. The design is based on the convenient format of a well known meal container for kids available at fast-food restaurants and folds flat.

Each product is one of a kind, so its way too good for daily use. Which brings me to wondering why would you get it? Maybe by unfolding flat, you could stick it on the wall.

Mujuworld, created by UK-based Mr and Mrs Muju, is a site showcasing their illustrations and wonderfully detailed, hand crafted plushies.

They’re a refreshing change from a lot of the vinyl “designer” toys I’ve seen out there, with great combinations of color tones creating these tactile pieces.

You can buy them on their Etsy store – not cheap, but reflective of their creativity and hand skills.

Brazil’s Rita de Cássia Baduy Pires of Ana Beatriz Miniatures, creates amazing little miniature scenes set on a ratio of 1:7.8 inches.

She has been working on her art for 20 years, conceiving her own scale to differentiate her work from regular dollhouse dimensions.

Pires actually makes every single piece in her artistic dioramas—violins, copper pots in a kitchen, Japanese teapot—which are created from wood, paper, clay and scrap metal in her atelier in Curitiba.

She comes up with different scenes under their respective themes, with film and music the most requested and are those that happen to require the most detail.

Custom orders always float in from clients who want miniature recreations of real-life places.

Ann Smith spends her days making little robotic like figurines from broken electronics and machine parts.  There are a couple of artists whose work I’ve seen online, who also create similar things, but Ann’s look quite elegant and actually work as kinetic sculptures!

They’re sold in stores and galleries throughout the US and have been published as illustrations in magazines and brochures.

On her website you can view a couple of animations of some pieces and you can also buy both the sculptures and prints of them from her Etsy store.
