Typefaces of 2008
Blog I Love Typography lists its favourite typefaces from 2008. As a designer, its about time I paid more attention to new fonts. Chunky looking Megalopolis Extra is my favourite on the list:

Graffiti Book Shelf
This is a rather cool book shelf. Probably best used with plain looking books..

Godzilla 3D Poster
There’s been a crop of 3D movie posters in the last year or so – notably Jaws and Robocop. They’re basically like designer toys but created as wall mountable dioramas that are based on their movie posters.
This Godzilla 3D poster is a nice addition, standing 11.5 inches tall and bursting from the frame.

Dennis The Menace Vinyl Toy
Dennis the Menace, the Beano comic icon, has now been reproduced as a ten inch piece of soft vinyl. I never thought I’d see this day (because it never occurred to me), but its still cool. Reminds me to buff up my old collection of Beanos.

Dennis comes in two different styles, a Classic Version and an Urban Version. Both versions are only limited to 1000 pieces and come with two interchangeable weapons (pea shooter & sling shot).

Handmade Nike Action Figures
More handmade coolness, this time in the shape of these full clothed figures by Coolrain. Barbie Ken they’re not.

The new, handmade ‘Monsterz Crew’ figures of “Andy and P-nix” are both extremely limited to ten each, and are decked out in urban Nike attire. Because of the handmade, branded nature of the articulated, large figures, they’ll cost a whopping $700 each.
